Landworks News – September 2007

Show bookings for 2008!

After such a busy summer it is quite a relief for the Landworks team that the calmer days of autumn have arrived. Despite the gloomy weather, we have been working flat out this summer on a variety of exciting gardens, some of which are on the website, and others which we will add over the next few weeks. As with all unique, one-off designs, we encountered new problems to solve in the construction phase, but we are very pleased with the way the gardens have worked out. Keep an eye on this news page to hear more about our adventures, including saving turf from a flood, the dog who kept stealing our tools and just how cold a river can be when it goes above the waistband of your shorts….

Autumn is here and it is time for us to plan the show gardens we will be designing and building for the shows in 2008. We have been invited to submit a design for a show garden for Gardener’s World Live 2008 at the NEC, but unfortunately we have already committed to another event during the same week and we could not have built both gardens in the time available. However, you will be able to see a Landworks Show Garden next summer at The South West Wales Homes and Gardens Festival at the Carmarthen Showground. We will give you more information about the garden itself nearer the time, but if all goes according to plan it will be pretty spectacular….

If you are still thirsty for more information about what the Landworks team are up to, Country Smallholding Magazine are midway through a series on DIY in the smallholding, written by Michelle. You can find out more about Nick’s interests by taking a look at the Groomvroom website. If all that isn’t enough for you, keep checking this news page and we will provide you with more information soon. Alternatively, contact us via email or telephone, and we can come and see you and your garden in person! This is the perfect time of year to redesign your garden ready for next spring, so take advantage of the good weather and contact us now!
